FAQs

What is GateHouse News Service? GateHouse News Service is a Web site that facilitates shared content that is easily localized and offers a platform for Niche products.
What’s the shared content? You’ll find key lifestyle content, such as home, food, health and more. All of that content follows readership-driven practices that is quick and easy to localize. Other popular content includes lifestyle rails, which are briefs boxes posted weekly on lifestyle topics. Also look for opinion content, such as national editorials, columns and cartoons.
What’s the niche content? GateHouse News Service produces weekly lifestyle pages, as well as the popular NASCAR page, a weekly Go Green page, a weekly KidzBuzz (NIE) page, as well as holiday pages and more. We also produce a monthly Family magazine, as well as tabs on Boomers & Beyond, Healthy Living, Stretched (which helps readers spend money wisely), Outdoor Living, Farm Living and more.
What’s in it for my newspaper? The goal of the news service is to give you content, especially in the areas of lifestyles and opinions, that is easy to make your own. So, instead of having to do an entire story on planting bulbs in spring, for instance, you can take a story from the news service, make a couple of calls for some local flavor, and you’re done. The site is structured and user-friendly, so you know what you can expect from day-to-day to help you plan. Here are weekly topics:

Monday: Health – includes a centerpiece, rail and ready-made page.
Tuesday: Food – includes a centerpiece, rail and ready-made page.
Wednesday: Home – includes a centerpiece, rail and ready-made page.
Thursday: Religion – includes a rail and column; Family, includes a rail and column.
